Effective immediately, I am changing the way I use this site's Twitter account (@networkingforum).

I have stopped the RSS -> TwitterFeed -> which resulted in 61,000+ Twitter updates which are links to/dupes of content on the forum. From now on, I will tweet when a site announcement or blog post is made or other significant event occurs.

Admittedly, I still don't quite 'get' Twitter and have a lot to learn about using it effectively, so bare with me and point out any dumb mistakes I make along the way. :)

Thanks!

Awesome. Thank you. I had deleted NF because of it.

Love your work

twitter is like facebook statues. short sweet messages.

"i am on the toilet"
"i am in a pub"
"just scored 38243924 on game"
"my location is here"

I "follow" some big name network guru's out there and some celebs as people seem to post to twitter first these days.

I heard some suited business types talk about this on NPR. The difference between twitter and say... facebook is that in facebook information tends to flow every which way, you both see your friends and families status updates and put out your own.

In Twitter, it's move of a hub and spoke flow of information. A celebrity might tweet something, where it gets received by the public and blogheads who then re-tweet it where it reaches even more people.

Just structurally how the sites are different. I don't really care for either one.
