Thanks Roggy. Very nice Video Tutorial! I followed it from the start till the end and it was a success. I just want to ask something about the P node. I thought P routers will only be running OSPF/IGP?

They can run only igp or igp and BGP. Doesn't really matter too much.

if you seen the Lab of Roggy is it possible if I only use OSPF on R3 R4 R5 and R6?

ok now I think I gt it. OSPF will still work if its the only pro in the P routers. Combine with BGP will also work. Thanks mellowd!

one of the great things about MPLS is reducing the complexity of BGP in the network core,
not having to deal with route reflectors or confederations in the core is nice.

ok so its much better if the P nodes are only running IGP (OSPF). I tried simulating it with only ospf and it works ok.

'Better' is very subjective. What's best in one network isn't best for another

i have a couple of isses.

1. i have a duo core with 4GB mem, when i load this lab i hit 100% CPU all the time.
2. when the core devices are loaded and i ping across it takes a life time to get there 1500 ms at minimum
3. the point likes from the provider edge devices to customer edge devices say 192.168.11.0/24 i get RIB failures
everytime i setup this lab, so basically they don'r get injected into the RIB hense i cannopt ping across any of my customer sites. The core mpls works fine, and i see the routes in bgp and with "sh ip route" there there. but when i do a "sh ip bgp vpn4 all" that's when i see the rib failures for the point to pount links
4. what version of gns3 are you using 32 bit allin one or the 64 bit version 0.8.2

Any help would be nice

Peter

I think it's fantastic! I engoy the overall layout and cleanlieness of the page.
The videos were awesome and clear enough to read and follow along.
Will be using this as a reference for MPLS VPN's

Great LAB! I would remove the MP-BGP from the P routers entirely though and configure i-BGP between the PE routers (1,2,7 and 8). MP-BGP is needed only there.
Regards, Rene
