SNMP problems...

Fri May 25, 2012 7:06 am

Some weird things here :)
In Cisco Prime In the DFM (device fault manager) we can't connect with our routers.
first we used a SHA and AES256bit but this gave problems apparently. Now I changed it to AES128 and that didn't gave a encryption error.
But still the snmp times out. And we can't connect to our routers in the DFM

Any ideas?? I'm still roaming the net for solutions :)

thanks

Oh yeah, forgot to mention/ask :)
Can it be that it has something to do with the engine ID's.
in # show snmp user
you see an engine id. We gave that id to all the routers.
I can't seem to get if it needs to be a unique id or is it used for a kind of shared key and does it needs to be the same.
bummer :s
