Hello guys. I need some tips , I am voip technician with more than 5 years exp. in my country (not USA) I am living in NYC for 3 yrs and working in small telecomm. company . Here I got my first experience with CUCM and I liked it maybe because it's very close to my previous softswitch system (Huawei Softx3000), I was in training in Tampa and passed ccna voice exam , i am working with labs at my home (in Vmware) and I have basic knowledge of working with CUCM , deep in networking and with Avaya Ip Office500 .
The questions is I cann't be hired to work with CUCM because hiring managers and technicians required so much , u must be experienced very to get that kind of work at least with 3-5 yrs of experience ... but how i can be experienced if i can't get that job? dozens interviews passed and all of them unsuccessfull .. How do another technicians/engeneers in this situation?
Thank you

You just have to keep on trying, interviewing & sending resume until...
a) some hiring manager cuts you a break, or
b) some hiring manager is more impressed with your overall presentation of 'You' (combined skillsets, social skill, blah blah) than they are averse about any particular area that doesn't completely match what they're looking for.

Don't hold your breath on item (a).

I got my job doing voip with just some operational experience (but 7 years of network background). I guess mine was a lucky break and I fell into it.

Try to install CUCM sofware on VMware and one CIPC with multiple DN.do that on your home PC and work with labs provided from Cisco. you can conseder that as years of experiance and dont forget to tell them on interview that you are already using CUCM at home. best luck on your next interview.

I agree with this as well....it will still count as experience etc. tho there still are downsides to this as well
