But did you ever read the ccna mega guide you get from them? If so how would you rate it?

I wouldn't read it. The company is unethical and does not deserve peoples' money. I can tell you that the CCNP stuff I tech edited was mediocre at best.

editing != writing,

but op, just stick to the basics:
- ciscopress books
- sybex book
- cbt nuggets
- INE
- IPExperts
- Chris Bryant
- and there's a million free guides online

The basics for CCNA cover a ton and do it well. I'm going through CBT nuggets right now and loving it. My wife is studying for her ICND1 and she likes it too so she has me tutoring her on things as well.

i bought their exam sim when it was on offer for my ccna. its was really crap and wont be getting anything else from them again.
cisco press all the way for me at the moment.

stevester1's list of sources is good too. they are like the main places i would look if i needed to get extra information that isnt in the cisco press books
