Hey all

So I finally passed my CCNA about 10 days ago and jumped straight away into the CCNP Route.

I am currently going through the Cisco Press FLG Route Guide and have come a little unstuck on understanding the Default Seed Metric for BGP. The book says the default is set to the IGP metric value? I don't quite understand what the IGP metric value is supposed to be, can someone explain?

When redistributing an IGP into BGP, the metric of routes being redistribuited are copied to the MED attribute in the BGP routes.
