I got it figured out , thanks , the instructions said not to set anything on the switch but you do in order for the connection to work right. I have to let the teacher know so he can either change instructions or at least let the other students know.
Anyways , thank you very much for replying.

You really need to say which of the 4 CCNA Discovery or 4 CCNA Exploration courses that this activity is in. As far as I know I'm the only Cisco Networking Academy instructor who regularly posts here and I'm not sure without looking at chapter 6 in up to 8 courses.
If there is an error in the instructions or scoring engine then your instructor can check on Academy Connection for any existing errata, and if the issue has not already been reported then raise a ticket with the Helpdesk to have it fixed by the Academy maintenance team.

Thanks, I told the instructor and he is aware of it because everyone in the class had the same problem with that paticular packet tracer. It was in the networking chapter 6 in packet tracer 6.8.1, our class knows how to do it now though. Thank you for replying though, I really appreciate it. I want to learn this as well as I can but I dont want to be the only one to figure it out. Its always better if the rest of the class can learn as well.
Thanks again.

I think you need to close the window and try again like it says,
but then again, I've no experience with packet tracer.

What did you try exactly?? You are not giving us any information.

Again without knowing which chapter 6 in which one of 8 courses I can't help you. Are you using the correct cable type - "R1 to S2" would indicate a link between a router and a switch so it should be a straight-through cable, shouldn't it?

It could be an issue with that particular Activity (.pka) file - check with your instructor.
