Haven't really been on here in a while. Have moved to Australia for some experience. Settling in nicely. Had a few job interviews and feel they've went very well. Usually I get pretty nervous, and the whole brain and mouth thing don't seem to work together. I suppose I should thank the recent training in that area (:

I miss my home lab :( Although I can still access it remotely, the latency is 450ms. I'm about to set up my VPN and join my Cisco soft phone to call home however I know it's not going to work as max round trip should be under 300ms. Still, I'd like to see what happens :)

Weather here has been a scorching 40c on a few days. Pete, I don't know how you cope! :)

Edit, just talking via soft phone now over an IPSEC tunnel. Quality is good to okay. The odd packet loss every now and then going over wifi, latency is better today, 360ms :D

Compared to England, market is great. All you need to do is look on SEEK.com.au. Take a look and don't fall off your chair.

Actually let me re-phrase, market is probably better in England in the number of jobs available however I've found the going rate for the same job more.

Standard working holiday 417. When you come over, pick up a contract job so you can claim back expenses and reduce overall tax.

Been totally overwhelemd with stuff lately, but hey welcome to the pretty city in the west - bit cooler this week for you.
Have you landed a job yet? If you get in somewhere see if they'll sponsor you a 457 visa.

Aubrey

Hi Aubrey, yes I have a job working for a managed services provider. They remind me a lot of my last role in England, except this company is much larger. Lots of interesting mining networks to work on and improve. I'll need to look into the sponsorship, I thoroughly enjoy it here!
