Mac users get in here!

Sun Apr 22, 2012 12:14 pm

Is the integrated terminal good enough? I've read about iTerm as well, or even SecureCRT.
What about connecting over console? I have a serial to usb converter, but how do I know which comm port the converter is using (in windows, I would go to device manager).

Any other recommendations are welcome (just made the jump to mac).

Not a Mac user, but loved SecureCRT when I had it...

It's OK. Someone turned me onto iTerm2 and that seems to be a bit better.

For console you can just use Screen. it's built in and does as good a job as any.

*nix doesn't have comm ports.. That's Windows crap. Your adapted will show up in /dev as something like /dev/ttyXXX. Mine shows up as /dev/tty.usbserial
